Token Research Fundamentals: How We Analyze Meme Coins
Our systematic approach to researching tokens - from contract analysis to community assessment.
Share
Every token we call goes through our rigorous research process. Here's how we evaluate opportunities.
Step 1: Contract Analysis
- Verify ownership: Is it renounced? Locked? Multi-sig?
- Check for honeypots: Can holders actually sell?
- Review tokenomics: Tax rates, max wallet, max transaction
- Audit status: Has it been audited? By whom?
Step 2: Liquidity Assessment
We look for:
- Locked liquidity (ideally 1+ year minimum)
- Sufficient LP size relative to market cap
- LP token burn for permanent liquidity
Step 3: Holder Distribution
Red flags include:
- Single wallets holding more than 5% (excluding contracts)
- Recent large accumulation by few wallets
- Developer wallets not locked or vesting
Step 4: Social & Community
- Twitter/X: Active, growing, organic engagement?
- Telegram: Real discussion or just price spam?
- Team transparency: Doxxed or anonymous? Track record?
Step 5: Narrative & Timing
Even well-structured tokens need the right narrative at the right time. We consider:
- Current market trends and hot sectors
- Upcoming catalysts (listings, partnerships, events)
- Meme potential and viral characteristics
See our methodology page for how we track and measure our success rate.
